A Case Study of Social Prescribing in Practice: The Crawley Posh Club (2018)
Social Prescribing is a way of linking people with non-medical support to improve their physical and mental wellbeing, connecting them with their local communities and supporting them to feel more empowered. The Posh Club is one of a variety of services that is part of the ‘Prescription Plus’ menu in Crawley, and it is a glamorous weekly social event for older people to meet each other over afternoon tea, with music and dancing.  This film includes interviews with local citizens who have been ‘prescribed’ to the Posh Club having been introduced by the community link worker, following a referral to the Social Prescribing Service by their GP Practice, and how it has benefited them.
