The Story of the Crawley Social Prescribing 'Prescription Plus'' Project (December 2017)

Social Prescribing is a way of linking people with non-medical support to improve their physical and mental wellbeing, connecting them with their local communities and supporting them to feel more empowered. This film captures the Social Prescribing scheme came to fruition in Crawley and the impact it has had on residents in Crawley and the local healthcare system.  We hope the film offers practical advice and guidance for anyone looking to learn more about Social Prescribing.

Lectures on social prescribing

UWE's Richard Kimberlee talks about social prescribing, which connects people to projects and activities that will support their mental health. Increasingly, GPs are seeing patients with social isolation and other mental health issues, rather than physical conditions, which a GP can't traditionally address: this is where social prescribing comes in, which offers a non-medical alternative to address wellbeing issues. This talk is part of the health strand of the Festival of the Future City, held on 17 November 2015
